Teaching Digital Literacies that Build Connection and Community

This talk or workshop introduces practical frameworks from Digital Literacies for Human Connection (2026, NCTE Press) to help instructors teach digital literacies in concrete, adaptable ways. Faculty will work with key concepts such as “knowledge equity” online, and then map these concepts onto assignments and discussions they can implement immediately in their own courses. Participants will leave with language, activities, and course design strategies for helping students critically analyze how technologies shape their writing, knowledge production, and sense of agency.
